Benito Martinez Jr - candidate for County Commissioner District #2 -
and former Santa Fe County Tax Assessor
just made an urgent call to us.

Benito has been working with several STR owners after hearing their properties have been reclassified as commercial (non-residential).

Benito wants ALL STR OWNERS TO KNOW HOW TO PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS NOW!

Our immediate action is required if you don't want to lose your rights to contest Isiah Romero's illegal reclassification.

Benito states if you have had your property reclassified you MUST file a protest by June 1st to protect your right to contest the reclassification.

Even if you meet Isaiah Romero's reclassification "qualifications", you must file a protest.

A protest protects your rights to contest Romero's illegal reclassification.
This buys STR owners time to not have to pay the illegal tax increase in November.
It takes months to process all the protests.

Benito has repeatedly stated what Romero is doing is illegal.
Romero is using the NM Administrative Code to reclassify STRs, not the actual NM Statute that defines residential and commercial properties.

In other words - Romero has no authority to the change the statue definitions/the law.
Only the legislature has that authority.
Romero is breaking the law.

As a former Santa Fe County Tax Assessor - Benito
knows the tax statutes and the rules under which the statutes are applied.
He can recite them by heart.

Benito believes firmly in the protection of property rights and equal protection under the law.

Heed his advice!
File your protest online

It takes a few minutes.
